AUGUST HIGHLIGHTS

The networking breakfast guest speaker was Bo Jakins from BridgeNet. He gave us a very informative 'part 1' talk about cyber security. The main takeaways: you can't be too careful out there as scams abound. Try to protect yourself by utilizing security features such as complicated passwords, 2-factor-authentication, using different passwords for each account, and a robust anti-virus system. Get the paid version of security services for enhanced features and better support. If you own a business, offer some security awareness training for your employees so they know what to look for. Don't click on attachments in emails if it comes from an unknown source. These basic steps will go a long way in protecting you and your business.

Cyber security is an important issue, especially considering most of Louisiana drivers have now had their data compromised due to the OMV data breach. If you want to find out more about what you can do, please join our September meeting for part 2 on this topic, presented by the FBI ... everyone is welcome!
