FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS

The networking breakfast featured Jill Mathies, Alderwoman for the Village of Folsom. Ms. Mathies spoke about a bit about how the Village government works and how our tax revenues are collected and spent. Only taxes collected from the businesses within the Village limits (approximately one square mile) fund most of the Village expenses. Ms. Mathies talked about community events the Village would like to sponsor, but emphasized the limited funds and manpower available. They would love to have someone volunteer who could coordinate and plan events for the Village so these things can happen. Ms Mathies asks if anyone is in interested in volunteering to help organize community events, starting with a business survey exploring existing community events as well as new ones, please leave her a message at the Village of Folsom.
