November CWiB Meeting Highlights

NOVEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
November’s guest speaker was Tatiana Bruce, Senior Program Manager over Small Business Services for the State of Louisiana’s Office of Economic Development. She shared about the programs and opportunities that LED provides to small businesses in LA. and then stayed to discuss participant questions. She provided the information below for anyone to utilize in moving forward in their business venture. The CWiB looks forward to future collaborations with the LED and their partners in support of rural small businesses in 2023!  (The general website is www.opportunitylouisiana.com).

LED offers the Small and Emerging Business Development (SEBD) Program that is designed to increase success for all Louisiana-based small and emerging business owners through training and technical assistance. The program provides cost sharing for developmental assistance in a number of ways including entrepreneurial training, marketing, accounting, business planning, human resources and legal and industry-specific assistance. The first step to enter the SEBD Program is to complete an application and submit it for certification approval.  Eligibility, application and more information can be found on the website.

LED works with intermediaries throughout the state who help guide business owners by meeting with them and assessing where they are in the development of their business to determine how best to apply the SEBD program. The next step after receiving your certification is to reach out to your closest intermediary and schedule an appointment to go over a free needs assessment.
